Code of conduct for Teachers


"Whereas, it is the responsibility of every teacher to advance and disseminate Knowledge through his/her professional activities in addition they are expected to maintain the dignity and adhere to the following;

  1. Teacher should always try to give his/her best to the students and to the University;
  2. Teacher should always adhere to honest dealing and fair play;
  3. Teacher in good conscience should have the freedom of expression of opinion;
  4. Failure to perform the academic duties assigned to him/her will be liable for action as per the Act, Statutes and Ordinances of the University.
  5. Victimization of and discrimination against students, colleagues and other staff will be liable for disciplinary action.
  6. Inciting of students against other students, colleagues, the University administration and its employees is prohibited. A teacher, however, shall have the right to express his/her opinion and ventilate differences on matters of principles in meetings, seminars or formal assemblies.
  7. Raising questions of caste, creed, religion, race or sex in his/her relationships with students, colleagues and other staff, with a view to furthering one's prospects or for any reason should be strictly avoided.
  8. Refusal to carry out the decisions of competent authorities/bodies and officers of the University in due exercise of their functions, made in accordance with the Act, Statutes and Ordinances amounts to dereliction of duty . A teacher shall, however, have the right to express his/her difference with the policies and/or decisions of the authorities and officers of the University in writing to competent authority.
  9. The Teachers should maintain personal cleanliness and also keep the Campus environment clean.
  10. Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside the classes and labs.
  11. The Teachers are prohibited from physically harming, threatening or abusing anyone in the Campus.
  12. Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct would invite disciplinary action.
  13. All the Teachers should maintain discipline and decorum within the Campus and outside too at all times. They must be regular and punctual for their lectures and laboratories work.
  14. Every Teacher should maintain proper behavior and polite manners both within and outside the Campus, keeping in mind that their University will be judged by their conduct and public image of the teacher.
  15. Immorality and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
  16. Illegal possession, use and distribution of drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, Smoking, consumption of alcohol and chewing tobacco are strictly prohibited anywhere within the Campus. Disciplinary action will be taken against Teachers violating these norms.
  17. Teachers should turn up in proper dress and observe the appropriate dress code stipulated by the University.
  18. The University authorities will not be responsible for the loss or security of academic/ non academic items of the teacher.
  19. Teachers are requested to notify in writing any change in their address, telephone numbers, and E-mail to the University.
  20. Misbehavior with the girl students will amount to a crime and will be reported to area Police station.
  21. Use of Beatle leaf and Beatle nuts is strictly prohibited.

Notwithstanding anything herein before contained, bona fide criticism or expression of Opinion by any teacher shall not constitute misconduct.

Code of conduct for Students


All the students of the university must strictly adhere to the Rules, Regulations and Code of Conduct enforced by the university from time to time. In general, the students should conduct themselves with dignity and decorum, observing the following rules:

  1. The students should carry their Identity Card with them while in the Campus at all times and should produce the same for verification when asked for by the university authorities.
  2. The students should not loiter in the corridors or wander in the Campus unnecessarily.
  3. The students should maintain personal cleanliness and also keep the Campus environment clean.
  4. Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside the classes and labs.
  5. The students are prohibited from harming /threatening/harassing or abusing anyone in the Campus.
  6. The students should not trespass into unauthorized zones.
  7. The students should not damage or disfigure in any way the property of university. The university will take steps to recover appropriate amount along with penalty from the students individually or collectively in the event of damage caused to the university property.
  8. Possession and use of weapons by the students are totally prohibited in the campus and would invite actions within the provisions of the laws of the land.
  9. The students are expected to obey their teachers and be respectful towards them at all times. Misbehavior towards teachers/University staff will be considered an act of indiscipline and will be severely dealt with.
  10. Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct would invite disciplinary action.
  11. All the students should maintain discipline and decorum within the Campus and outside too at all times. They must be regular and punctual for their lectures and laboratories. Repeated absence without prior information renders the students liable for suspension and eventually rustication.
  12. Minimum 75% attendance is mandatory for the students as per MMYVV rules. The students having shortfall in attendance will not be allowed to appear in the examinations.
  13. Every student should maintain proper behavior and polite manners both within and outside the Campus, keeping in mind that their Institute will be judged by their conduct.
  14. Immorality and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
  15. Students should turn up in proper uniform and observe the dress code stipulated by the Institute. Students who do not conform to the proper dress code will be marked absent and sent home with a warning.
  16. For leave on medical grounds, a written application (signed by the parent/guardian) with doctor's prescription should be submitted. In case of illness during institute hours, students should inform their tutor-guardians (TGs) as early as possible. First aid will be provided by the Institute immediately. If required, they will be referred to the Institute's doctor.
  17. Students should submit all the assignments well in time and appear for class tests and mid-sem exams regularly without fail. Otherwise, their marks for the session will be adversely impacted.
  18. Students are advised to have proper driving license and wear helmets while driving/riding two wheelers. They should follow all traffic rules.
  19. The Institute authorities will not be responsible for the loss of money, books, records, mobile phones, jewellery, or any other article belonging to the students. It is entirely the responsibility of the students to take care of their possessions.
  20. Guests are not allowed in the rooms. In case of emergency, students should take special permission from the Principal during working hours and from the Warden after the Institute's working hours.
  21. Illegal possession, use and distribution of drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, etc. also constitute offenses and are liable for severe punishment. Smoking, consumption of alcohol and chewing tobacco are strictly prohibited anywhere within the Campus. Disciplinary action will be taken against students violating these norms.
  22. Parents/guardians are requested to notify in writing any change in their address or telephone numbers to the institute.
  23. Parents are requested to take interest and monitor their ward's academic performance, movement and habits. They are encouraged to approach the authorities to submit their suggestions and remarks. They should come to the University when called by authorities of the University.
  24. The Students should not steal, deface or mutilate books from library and return them in given time limit.
  25. They should not write anywhere on the wall including toilet block.

Ragging:

Any student found guilty of ragging in or outside the campus will be liable to severe disciplinary action. The act of ragging is punishable offense under Govt. Law. Under this Law the student is liable to be dismissed from the college without any notice and the case may be reported to the police, if necessary.
