Rain-Water Harvesting

Fire Extinguishers

Solar Power Plant

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya (MMYVV) has implemented a comprehensive solar energy system across its campus to promote sustainability and reduce reliance on conventional power sources.

• 45 kW Rooftop Solar Power Plant:The university has installed a 45-kW rooftop solar power plant, comprising approximately 131 polycrystalline panels of 345 Wp each or 90 monocrystalline panels of 500 Wp each. This system is designed to generate an average of 180 kWh per day, totalling around 5,625 kWh per month, depending on sunlight conditions. The generated electricity is fed into an off-grid setup, ensuring a reliable power supply for various campus facilities.
• 300 Solar-Powered Street Lights:To enhance campus illumination and promote energy efficiency, MMYVV has installed 300 solar-powered street lights throughout the campus. These lights operate independently of the grid, utilizing photovoltaic panels to harness solar energy during the day and provide lighting at night, thereby reducing electricity consumption and contributing to environmental conservation.
• 12 Solar Water Heaters:The campus is equipped with 12 solar water heaters, each with a capacity of 500 liters per day (LPD). These systems utilize evacuated tube collector (ETC) technology, which is highly efficient in capturing solar energy. The insulated tanks ensure that hot water is available on-demand for various purposes, including sanitation and cleaning, reducing the need for conventional electric water heaters and promoting sustainable water heating practices.
  Through these initiatives, MMYVV demonstrates its commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship, aligning with national objectives to increase solar rooftop capacity and empower households and institutions to generate their own electricity.

Transportation
